The 3rd edition of the International Environmental Film Festival of Niamey (FIFEN) took place in Niger\'s capital city from 3 to 8 June 2008 under the theme of "Africa and its technical, scientific and cultural know-how at the service of water management for people and the Environment".

In addition to the standard competitions, FIFEN 2008 was host to a selection of films that shall represent Africa in the up-coming International "Water and Film" Events to take place in Istanbul in March 2009.

 The Jury judged the films in three categories:
