mexico2006.jpgDuring the 4th World Water Forum in Mexico in 2006, the International Secretariat for Water, the French Water Academy and CONAGUA co-organised the International "Water and Film" Events (IWFE).
For one week, the focus was on film and water was the driver of actions. Many themes were evoked: aquatic myths and legends, public baths, rites and traditions, protection of wetlands, aquatic ecosystems, the right to water and sanitation, floods, major infrastructure, dams, pollution, conflicts over use and access to resources.

With more than 350 films of an exceptional cultural diversity and from around 50 countries, this event highlighted the deep and complex ties that link water and film, and the way in which, throughout the world, people interact with nature and thus contribute to improving and sometimes deteriorating their environment.
